About this scholarship
Gates Cambridge Scholarships are highly competitive, fully funded awards for outstanding postgraduate students from outside the United Kingdom to study at the University of Cambridge. Around 80 scholarships are offered each year across all subjects.
The award covers the full cost of studying at Cambridge, a maintenance allowance of 21,000 pounds per year, travel, visa costs, and health insurance, with additional family and academic development funding available. Applications open in September 2026. The US round closes on 16 October 2026, while international round deadlines fall in December 2026 or January 2027 depending on the course.
Eligibility
Be a citizen of any country outside the United Kingdom and apply for a full-time postgraduate degree at the University of Cambridge.
